Today, after work, I got in my car
and drove to the library, like I do nearly every Tuesday. Casting Crowns was
playing on KTIS. I was singing along, like I usually do. But today, the lyrics
hit me. They hit me hard.
“So when you're on your knees and
answers seem so far away
, You're not
alone, stop holding on and just be held,
Your world's not falling apart, it's falling into place,
I'm on
the throne, stop holding on and just be held
, Just be held, just be held”
This song had been an anthem for me
throughout this summer. It was a difficult season, and I needed to be reminded to
turn to Him more often than I’d like to admit. Things sure felt like they were
falling apart at times.
“Your world’s not falling apart, it’s
falling into place.”
Whoa.
The whole summer felt like a jig saw puzzle thrown on the
table and no one was working on completing it. Instead, they were just moving
the pieces around from one area of the table to another, and not fitting any pieces
together! When I heard those lyrics tonight, I felt like God was saying, “hey
Sarah, the tough part’s over. Stay with me and it’ll only get better.”
”I'm on the throne, stop holding on
and just be held
, Just be held, just be held”
The devotion I read this morning
can be summed up “Live like you are loved, because you are.” Growing up, every
night when my dad said good night to me, he always said, “I love you and God
loves you too.” I’m sure I’m not the only one who needs to be reminded that He
loves me.
Maybe you need to take a break
and just be held. Maybe you need to cry and vent to Him. Maybe you just need to
hear the words “you are loved”. I don’t know where you’re at, wonderful person
who is reading this, but God put this on my heart and I’m putting it out there.
You are a Child of God and He LOVES you.
